“Let Me In” was one of the first songs we wrote together as a band. The song started out as an ode to Chris Cornell, focusing primarily on high, intense vocals, blaring drums, and great guitar riffs, but as we continued to write the song, it had a life of its own. It was about mental health. It was about trying to balance the burden of everything at once, dealing with the stresses of other people’s lives when you could barely keep yourself afloat.
Lyrically, we want to promote talk about your own mental health, as there is an epidemic of depression and an increase in male suicides globally. We wanted the song to send a hopeful message that by letting people in and communicating, you don’t have to crumble under the pressures of life. We want to make it clear that that doesn’t make you the less a man to reach out and get help. This is one of our favorite songs to perform live because of the power and energy it has. We love this song.”
